I am a work-at-home mom of 2 beautiful girls, Hannah & Ainsley. My husband and I, along with the kids and our 2 crazy dogs, currently live in Sandy, Utah. I must confess, I’d rather be sitting on a beach with my toes in the warm sand than hanging out on a snow-covered mountain. I don’t love the cold weather. Even though I am a Florida girl at heart, I really do love the beauty and majesty of the Wasatch mountains. We love to go hiking in the mountains and take long drives through the canyons. We also love to volunteer through Rescue Rovers, a local dog rescue, where we found both of our dogs. We foster rescue dogs until they are ready to find their forever homes. It’s amazing what a little bit of love and a full belly can do for these little souls.
I’ve always been passionate about family history and memory keeping. I started visiting family history libraries and searching for my deceased ancestors when I was still in elementary school. My grandmother and I spent hours together each summer working on finding our heritage. My love of photography began while I was also still in elementary school. In high school, I started making scrapbooks with all of my photos I was taking. They were really basic, but I loved combining my love of artwork & photography into something tangible, and something for my children & grandchildren to have so they could get to know me. I have always loved art & photography, but I haven’t ever been able to get my hands to do what I can see in my head. So, in 2005, when my older daughter was tiny, I discovered digital scrapbooking. I quickly realized that Photoshop could help me get what was in my head out and visible for everyone to see. I began designing digital scrapbook kits in 2008, and I absolutely love it! I’m inspired by colors, patterns, nature & my kids.
I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2009 (only 12 years after I started, but that’s another story!) in Marriage, Family & Human Development. I’ve always been intrigued by people and wonder what makes them think and act the way they do. I love to meet new people and talk to them and really try to understand them. But, in terms of my degree being useful… it’s really not all that useful in my professional life.
Between the kids & the dogs and work, I don’t get a lot of free time to myself. When I do get free time, I love to read! I also love to cook and bake and do all things crafty. I love makeup & nail polish and can’t seem to have enough bottles of nail polish, even though I rarely make time to polish my nails. It’s kind of like all the fabric and paper scrapbook supplies that I
hoard collect, but never use. I just like to be surrounded by pretty things!
