Monday at Mere’s: Card Challenge

Hi there,  my name is Sara and I am one of Meredith Cardall’s Creative Team members.  I am here today to push you to get your digital scrapbook holiday cards created and printed to share with family and friends.

I have found that sometimes ordering the generic cards that some stores offer is not as fun as customizing my own.  Cards are not just for the holidays but can also be created and sent to family and friends throughout the year with updates and photos.  Being a Military Family, our relatives often miss out on the little things that happen with us and our children.  This gives us a way to celebrate each of their little achievements as well as giving family a keepsake they can keep with them and share with others.

I create my cards in a 4×6 format so they are easy to print and easy to send.  I purchase my envelopes (Invitation size) from our local store and these cards fit perfect inside and also look professional for sending.

So now for the Challenge!  Take the template and use it to create your card.  It does not have to be for the holidays, just use it as you please.  You can even change it and make it a 6 x4 card by rotating the template 90 degrees.  Please use at least 50% of Meredith Cardall Design products (Freebies also work!).  Upload this to your favorite gallery, come back here to the blog and post your link in the comments! On November 14th, one random winner will be chosen to receive a free kit of their choice!!!

Here is a preview of the Template:

I hope that you find inspiration in this Challenge.  Thank you for taking on this challenge and I look forward to seeing your card creations!

DigiNews: Cut-Away Calendars

Happy Friday!  It’s finally the weekend!  It is the last weekend of fall soccer.  Does it make me a bad mom to admit that I am grateful?!

This weekend, I have a couple of unique calendar templates for you.  Have you ever created calendars and then felt like at the end of the year you had nothing to show for it? These templates are a fix for that problem!  When your calendar is finished, it will measure 12×18 inches. To assemble the calendar, take one of your already finished (or new if you want) layouts and slip it into the template.  Decorate the binding strip and the bottom cut-away strip. Print your calendar.  ((I highly recommend using Persnickety Prints. They’ll even bind your calendar for you!  Did you know that they can now print on cardstock?)) At the end of the month or at the end of the year, simply trim off the top binding area and the calendar area and you have a 12×12 layout to slip into an album.

The first set of calendars are really basic! They let your layout capture the attention of your gift recipient.

The second set of calendars is a little bit more pretty and elaborate.

Here are some sample calendar pages that my Creative Team pulled together.  I think they did a fabulous job!  ((Some of the products used are not by me or are retired products that are no longer available.))

Today has completely gotten away from me! I had big plans to clean my whole house this morning and it just didn't happen!  I did get the sheets washed and the blinds dusted.  But I made the mistake of sitting down after that, and I haven't gotten back up!  Oops!  This week I have a special edition of Win a Kit Wednesday!
