Welcome to another edition of Getting To Know. This week we are getting to know Misty. Misty has been on my creative team for quite a while now and it’s been fun to get to know her even better!
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a full-time bookkeeper by day and a digital designer by night. A mom of two rambunctious boys and wife of an amazing man all the time! I love to scrap, design, read and crochet. My kids think I’m Super Mom and I think daily that I’m not doing enough. When I think about it – I’m tired!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a magazine editor. It was just shortly before the paper magazine died a harsh death.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I haven’t been anywhere out of the continental US. I would love to go to Italy.
Which would you rather visit- Disneyland or Disney World?
What is your biggest fear?
Besides the normal something happening to my family etc. I am afraid of bridges. More so of going off the edge of it in a car.
If you were stranded on a tropical island, and could only take three things with you, what would they be?
my ipad for my books, picture of my kids, and my bible.
How long have you been scrapbooking?
How did you learn about digital scrapbooking?
My 2nd son was born and quickly realized he was a destructor and I couldn’t have nice things. I couldn’t leave paper pages out – he would ruin them. But I knew I couldn’t stop scrapping!
What kind of camera do you have?
I use my iphone for everything now
Is it on automatic or manual mode?
What kind of computer do you use?
I’m a PC – Lenovo 6 gig processor for designing
What program do you use to scrapbook?
PSE 7 – I have tried newer versions and I have PS, but if it’s not broke….
What’s your favorite time-saving or organizational tip for scrapbooking?
I have files for everything! I use the name of the kit and date so I know when it releases example Mere’s Winter Wishes releases Jan 15 the file would be 0115_mere_Winterwishes since I organize alphabetical/numerical everything in my CT folder that is due in Jan would be first.
How do you get out of a scrapping slump?
I peruse through galleries or Pinterest.
Why do you scrapbook?
It’s therapy. I can keep put things in a page that I can’t convey any other way. I can write and I can be creative, but I can’t easily speak what I feel.
What is your greatest reward as a scrapbooker?
I have met amazing women with common interests outside of scrapping!
Share Your Favorite Layout using my products. Why is it your favorite?
Selfies! – It’s my favorite because combines all of my favorite people in one layout! And I trash talk my husband’s favorite team in a super subtle way.
Share Your Favorite layout using any products. Why is it your favorite?
Fragile – It shows me at a vulnerable place. It’s the reason I scrap. I can say things on paper I can’t say out loud. I had just lost both my grandparents and my dad. It was a rough time for me. Scrapping was my therapy.

Thanks, Misty, for letting us get to know you a bit better. I LOVE the tip about renaming files to stay organized.
